Hirurško lečenje zapaljenskih procesa

Surgical Treatment of Inflammatory Processes – Periapical lesions are pathological changes that occur on the top of the root of non-vital (dead) teeth.

Chronic inflammation originates from the necrotic content of the root canal. The causes of the necrosis of the pulp may be caused by different reasons as caries, trauma, thermal stimuli or inadequate treatment.

In order to establish the diagnosis and planning of therapy it is necessary to make an X-ray. If it turns out that it is not possible by endodontic (canal treatment) treatment to remedy the lesions, the surgical therapy is the next step. It involves resection of roots (cutting off the infected part of the root of the tooth) and removal of altered bone tissue.
